Tucked away in Leviticus are seven incredible declarations God makes over us. I believe these promises are more relevant now than they were then. Be empowered with this Kingdom motivational minute.
These promises are indeed wonderful and worthy of our attention, but they were merely a shadow of things to come. They need to be viewed through the lens of the NEW Covenant, where their fulfillment is even more powerful. The Old Testament is about a VISITATION relationship with God. Jesus' life and death fulfilled the terms of the Mosaic Covenant. His resurrection introduced the NEW and better Covenant (Heb 8:6). We live in a HABITATION Covenant - Father put Jesus in me and put me into Jesus! We are new creations; the old man is dead (Rom 6). In Christ, we were given "us all things that pertain to life and godliness." (2Pet 1:3) The Holy Spirit teaches us to abide in Jesus so that we can "grow up into Him in ALL things, which is the head, even Christ" (Eph 4:15).
Excellent comment, David! I fully agree. These promises are now fully realized in Christ. Thanks for taking the time to lay this out including the appropriate scriptural support! :)
I love your comment also, however I like that for those that dont even know what the old covenant said that Jesus came to fulfilll and I have access to, it helps hear and see what Jesus died for me to have. I cant praise JESUS adequately if I dont know all that he did for me in fullfilling all the requirements of the law. Thank you for adding that I now have the embodiment of the promise in the Holy Spirit.
Love the idea of God’s “favor” because it’s rarely transactional. It’s simply unmerited generosity, born out of love. It allows us to see that our God does not see us as slaves, or employees, but truly as His CHILDREN. How lucky are we to be adopted into His family and receive not only His blessing, but His favor as well? DB
Great comment, Dave. The last four years the Lord has taken me on a deep journey into Sonship and what it truly means as the very foundation of my identity in Christ. We are no longer orphaned or victims. We are sons and daughters, fully loved by our Father in heaven.
great teaching
