Leaven Influences All
A Kingdom motivational minute encouraging us all to see the value of the small and how adding the leaven of the Kingdom will supernaturally change the world.
We tend to look at the big and neglect the small. But in the Kingdom, small things matter, and small things make a supernatural difference. Your "small" is a gift to those around you.
The Lord got my attention lately after reading Matt 13:33 when Jesus addressed the crowds regarding the influence of leaven (yeast) in dough.
Another parable He spoke to them: "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal (flour) till it was all leavened (spread througout every part of the dough). (Matt. 13:33)
When leaven is added to the dough, it influences the whole lump. Every part of the dough is impacted. The dough can’t hold its ground against leaven, it yields to the power the leaven initiates. There is no escape. The outcome is transformation.
Over the last several years, I've noticed how mainstream media applies "leaven" to transform culture. A little here and a little there and the leaven begins to have an impact on the mindset of a nation.
The Power of Kingdom Leaven
The Lord reminded me that this is a Kingdom principle. The small is big. The difference here is that the Kingdom of God brings within itself supernatural power and influence. In and of itself the leaven of the Kingdom has the power to transform all that it is mixed with.
The baker has no influence over the dough. His job is to be intentional and incorporate the leaven into the dough. The leaven does the work itself and creates change.
We have an opportunity to mix the leaven of the Kingdom into the dough of the world God has assigned us to live in. This includes life in our homes, church, work, the errands we run, and the people we meet. Any point of connection is an opportunity to mix in even the smallest amount of Kingdom leaven.
We are not responsible to be leaven but to incorporate it. Never underestimate its influence.
Be intentional this week to instill Kingdom leaven wherever you go and into whatever you do. Deposit faith, hope, and love into our decaying culture. Bring joy and kindness, serve others, and be ready to share Christ when given the opportunity. Add Kingdom leaven to your social media platforms, your email, and texts.
The power of the Kingdom is in the leaven you and I daily deposit. Be assured, Kingdom leaven has the power within itself to transform the world. 🔥
This was great. I never thought about leaven and how it is my responsibility to introduce the leaven into whatever God tells me to. It not my responsibility to spread it all around. That is Gods responsibility but mine is to introduce it wherever I go!
Good stuff Greg. In yet another parallel, a microscopic virus (the small), altered the lives of everyone on the planet! I also liked how you highlighted the fact that we are not responsible for the work of the leaven. It reminds me of The passage in 1st Corinthians where Paul admonishes that our job is to spread and water the seed, but only God can make it grow.
