Choosing GOD'S WISDOM Over Human Wisdom
The world is looking for solutions. Solutions to this virus? Solutions for re-opening the economy? Solutions to help small businesses? Our world has been turned upside down. We have panic. We have protests. We have massive problems. There is no escaping it.
Taking Responsibility
Yes, God is in control, but we need to be asking Him for His counsel. His wisdom. We have the joy and responsibility as His sons and daughters to approach our Father for Kingdom solutions the world is looking for.
I often feel overwhelmed with the massive amount of ongoing personal and societal upheaval that takes place daily. But as believers, especially for us who know we are Christ's ekklesia, we must move beyond asking the Lord to comfort us and begin to earnestly pray for His wisdom and counsel to provide Kingdom solutions.
I'm encouraged that our President commissions us to pray for God's intervention and help. I know there are those in the White House who are believing believers, asking for God's wisdom and counsel. Let's join them.
Human Wisdom is Not Enough
Though I value our God-given intellect and capacity to create and provide solutions, it can't replace seeking the counsel of the Lord. Much of human wisdom, outside of God's counsel, falls short of the fullness of divine blessing and power. Pride always has an end, and arrogance leads us away from the courts of the Lord.
20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
1 Corinthians 1:20, 25-27 (NIV)
More than ever, our local and government officials need the church. And more than ever, the church needs to draw from God's wisdom and provide solutions from heaven with love and humility.
What We Can Begin to Do
Be walking in the fear of the Lord, it is the beginning of Wisdom. Stay close to His heart.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
Proverbs 9:10
Ask God for Wisdom.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
Be open to receive a Word(s) of Wisdom from the Holy Spirit.
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit,
1 Corinthians 12:8
We are the salt of the earth. We are called to legislate and bring Heaven's wisdom into our world. The Bible says wisdom is better than jewels and better than silver and gold. (Proverbs 8:11; 3:13-14). The revelation found in these verses couldn't be any more real and relevant than they are right now.
